English Version

I'm Andrés, a 27-year-old Argentinian who has been battling chronic kidney disease since I was 10 months old. It all started with hemolytic uremic syndrome. At 4, I began peritoneal dialysis, and at 7, I received my first (cadaveric) transplant, which unfortunately only lasted 8 months.

Years of hemodialysis and multiple surgeries followed, until I received a second transplant from my father at the Hospital Garrahan when I was 11. This one also declined, and I returned to dialysis at 16. In June 2022, another glimmer of hope faded when my third transplant failed.

Twelve years of dialysis have shaped my life, limiting my dreams, such as traveling. Despite countless complications and limited options, I continue to fight for a fourth chance. THE KIDNEY PROJECT offers that ray of light at the end of the tunnel.

I firmly believe in the power of this project and its potential to change the lives of thousands. To all who can contribute, I urge you to join this cause. The bionic kidney represents a real hope for those of us who yearn for a more fulfilling and free life.

I am deeply grateful to those who take the time to listen to our story. Together, we can make this dream a reality.
