Chronic kidney failure has profoundly impacted my life and that of my family. Originally from Venezuela, I moved to Spain seeking a chance to improve my health and continue being there for my loved ones.
For the past five years, I have bravely faced dialysis. Each needle and each session symbolize my determination to persevere. However, I seek more than just temporary fixes—I aspire for a life free from the constraints of my condition.
The Kidney Project offers a glimmer of hope to me. The prospect of a bioartificial kidney, a compact device that could dramatically alter my life's path, ignites my imagination. I envision a future where I am not bound by dialysis machines, where I can freely embrace my children without the worry of injury. This initiative represents a chance not just for me but for all individuals grappling with kidney disease.
My story is one of resilience and refusal to surrender. My family is my foundation, the core motivation behind my persistence. I am committed to contributing my utmost effort. I aim to be a beacon of hope for renal patients, sharing my journey and inspiring others to maintain their hope.

Mi nombre es Ramón, y me atrevo a escribirles desde el fondo de mi corazón. Soy un padre de familia, un luchador incansable y un soñador. Mi vida ha estado marcada por la insuficiencia renal crónica, una carga que comparto con muchos miembros de mi familia. Originario de Venezuela, he emigrado a España en busca de una oportunidad para salvar mi vida y estar presente para mis seres queridos.
